New Data Breach Statistics

The most recent IBM/Ponemon Cost of a Data Breach study has been released. As is normally the case, the average costs are going up rather than down.

The global average cost of a data breach is up 6.4 percent over 2017. The average cost for a lost or stolen record containing sensitive or confidential information has also increased by 4.8 percent to $148/file.

Find your sensitive data

Heureka’s message is simple. You can’t protect what you can’t find. Heureka’s platform is tailor-made to help organizations locate and protect sensitive information in unstructured data. Whether Mac, PC or Linux, desktop, laptop or file share, PII-related information is automatically identified on a daily basis across hundreds or thousands of endpoints. Our risk dashboard tracks and displays the riskiest endpoints in your organization and provides the search capability for a file-level analysis giving you a granular view of your most sensitive information.

Protect your sensitive data from data breaches

More importantly, to control risk related data you need a robust file-level tool set. Fortunately, Heureka has built-in tools for collecting, deleting or quarantining files regardless of where they are in the organization. Sensitive data can be collected from endpoints and centralized to a more secure source. Additionally, sensitive files that have migrated to unauthorized endpoints can be deleted or quarantined all from a central console.

Companies rely on Heureka

Heureka’s clients come from a wide variety of industries including higher education, manufacturing, government, legal, high-tech and consulting practices. The main goal of many of our users is to reduce the overall attack surface of their organization thus minimizing the potential impact should a breach occur. No company or organization wants to be a breach statistic and Heureka is helping companies stay off the front pages by providing the tools needed to find and remediate sensitive data.
