Faster Access to Data
Over the past several years there has been a dramatic shift in the traditional E-Discovery methods for gaining access to custodian information. The decades-old tradition of over-collecting, over-processing and over-reviewing data has seen a shift toward rapid, targeted search and collect technology and Heureka has been leading the way. Our main key to success is access to data at the point of creation, the actual endpoints themselves. Our second key of success is access to endpoints regardless of geographic location or operating system type including Windows, macOS and Linux.
Swimming upstream in the EDRM model
Two years ago, Heureka demonstrated a new way to think about searching and collecting custodian data. In summer of 2018, Heureka introduced the Express Export module making it easier than ever to collect files from virtually any geographic location and rapidly promoting files to review or analytics platforms. Heureka coined the term Earliest Case Assessment because of our ability to search and analyze information across thousands of machines simultaneously. Since Heureka lives at the endpoint level, users gain unparalleled access to information never thought possible. Heureka allows users to search and collect as far to the left as possible in the Duke Law-EDRM model. There is also a dramatic shift in the model when it comes to processing and analyzing data.
The power of your endpoints
Heureka’s indexing and processing approach harnesses the power of each endpoint to produce its own full text and metadata index. Gone are the days where entire copies of hard drives are a necessity along with the hardware/software costs of processing and indexing vast amounts of information in a centralized location. Each computer running the Heureka endpoint service becomes its own mini-processing engine. Heureka engineers specifically designed Heureka’s service to be customizable making sure that any performance issues are imperceptible to users.
Data analysis before collection
Imagine performing data analysis at the endpoint level before collecting a single file! The biggest benefit to having access to the data directly on the endpoints is the rapid speed and up-to-date information available to the user. The added benefit is immeasurable when compared to traditional methods of early case assessment. The ability to search and cull data is unparalleled as is the ability to add or removed endpoints with the click of a button.
Heureka’s data classification engine helps enrich data context by automatically classifying and tagging sensitive data. Deeper analysis can be completed using Heureka’s search tools including keywords, Boolean queries, date filters, hash (file fingerprint) searches, file names, file paths and more. Text analytics can be accomplished via a text export module.
Review time – Express Export
When a user is ready to review document they can use the Heureka Express Export module to create a custom export tailored to their desired document review platform. Heureka has created custom templates for iCONECT, Logikcull, Relativity and Zapproved. If a custom export is necessary, users can use the advanced mode and select an export tailored to their situation. Collections can be separated and compressed as a job or as individual custodians as required by certain review platforms.
E-Discovery continues to evolve in both technology and capability. Heureka’s approach is to give users unparalleled access to information that simply wasn’t possible until a few years ago. We reach endpoints and file shares that were previously inaccessible and provide a centralized way to access information across a wide array of operating systems and system types. Heureka continues to concentrate on streamlining the E-Discovery process and continues to push the envelope in endpoint analysis and technology.
